Meet the Doctor

Michael Palmieri, DC, CSCS
Owner & Founder of Palmieri Chiropractic and Rehabilitation

I’m part health nerd, part problem-solver, and part sports fanatic. But most importantly, I see the body as a puzzle—one that, when solved correctly, unlocks lasting health. I take a patient-centered approach based on co-developing a plan around each patient’s unique goals and needs. This requires a thoughtful and purposeful plan centered around helping you better understand what led to your current pain or injury so that you can best reduce the risk of future issues.

I place a strong emphasis on movement assessment, education, multi-faceted treatment, and helping patients develop self-efficacy for confidence and lasting results. I believe movement truly is medicine, which is why I encourage movement and corrective exercise as part of every patient’s roadmap to success. This is the key to restoring function and building resiliency against future injury. My personal mission is to get you back to doing the things you love and to help you develop a sustainable strategy to maintain health and wellness.

Roadmap to Success

Every patients journey at Palmieri Chiropractic and Rehabilitation begins with a thorough evaluation and functional movement assessment. We’ll then develop a purposeful plan, tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Every roadmap to success is based in a principled three-step framework, aimed at getting you out of pain and moving better while minimizing risk of re-injury and helping you reach sustainable health and wellness.

01. Reset

     Feel better
  • This is what people tend to think of when they describe chiropractic and physical therapy

  • This involves mostly hands-on treatments performed by a clinician such as adjustments, soft tissue work, shockwave therapy, e-stim, and passive therapies, etc.

  • Think of this as performing a “reset” on the system (aka your body)

  • The goal is to reduce pain and inflammation, calm down overactive tissues, restore lost movement, and reduce fear avoidance of activity

02. Restore

Move better
  • Once you’re feeling better,  we want to focus on functioning better

  • The goal is to restore your pain-free lifestyle while introducing or reintroducing movement and activities

  • This is what most people want when they seek a provider – to get back to doing the things they love

  • Personalized rehabilitation exercises specific to your needs and goals

  • Aimed at restoring and retraining:

    • Range of motion (mobility)

    • Stability (motor control)

    • Proper movement patterns (functional ability)

03. Reload

Perform Better
  • Getting back to living, playing, and/or competing at your highest level, without fear or limitations

  • Building capacity for improved resilience against future injury

  • Reload with progressive exercises that help maintain and build upon restored movement capabilities

  • This is where rehab starts to look a lot more like training:

    • Maximize strength

    • Improved capacity

    • Minimize injury risk

  • Achieve health longevity and sustainable wellness

FAQs

Find answers to common questions about our services.

During your first visit, one of our Doctors of Chiropractic will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to diagnose the root cause of your symptoms. A functional movement assessment is included to better understand how your movement patterns may be contributing to your pain or injury. This evaluation is crucial, as it provides insight into your specific challenges, limitations, and goals. Based on their findings, the Doctor will provide hands-on treatment as well as rehab exercises, education about your condition, and a home program. The goal is to reduce pain, restore movement, and build resilience for long-term results. All of this is part of your customized treatment plan that serves as your personal roadmap to recovery and long-term success.

Treatment duration varies by individual needs, but we aim for efficient and effective care.

Most treatments are not painful, though some may cause mild discomfort or muscle soreness, similar to what you’d feel after exercising, especially with certain types of soft tissue work. We focus on reducing pain first but may use techniques that temporarily cause discomfort to achieve long-term healing. At Palmieri Chiropractic, we don’t adhere to the “No Pain No Gain” mentality, as it doesn’t align with long-term healing. Instead, we focus on setting clear expectations and ensuring that you’re comfortable with the plan.

We accept various insurance plans; please contact us for more details.
